Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on the Land

Back to Contents

From 2008, we have this from the movie "Drench Cassidy and the Raindance Kid". It can be sung to the melody of "Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head".

Raindrops keep fallin’ on the land,

to create a flood for which no agency has planned.

They’re sleepin’ on the job, so...

We’re never going to stop the water from rising.

Because they’re dumb,

the devastation’s going to come.

Raindrops keep fallin’ on the land,

and FEMA’s director should most certainly be canned.

He’s done a lousy job, so...

We’re not prepared for when the water starts rising.

Because he’s dumb,

the devastation’s going to come.

Raindrops keep fallin’ on the land,

the wind is a-rising and our city’s built on sand.

We have no solid ground, so...

We have to hope that the Coast Guard starts looking

for you and me

as we get carried out to sea.
